Returns & Refund Policy
At Retro Computer Dungeon, we want you to be completely satisfied with your restored vintage computer or parts. We understand that sometimes things don't work out as expected, or a vintage item might develop an unforeseen issue. Please read our policy carefully to understand your options.
1. General Return Policy (Change of Mind / Unwanted Items)
Return Window: You have 14 calendar days from the date you receive your order to initiate a return for any reason.
Eligibility: To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition that you received it.
Complete with all original components, accessories, and documentation that were included in the original packaging.
Not damaged or altered by the customer.
For restored computers: Must be returned in the state it was received, without any customer-initiated modifications or attempted repairs.
Non-Returnable Items:
Gift cards.
Items explicitly marked as "final sale" or "as-is" at the time of purchase.
Return Shipping:
For general returns (change of mind), the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
Items must be returned using a trackable shipping service with appropriate insurance, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit.
2. Faulty Item Return Policy (Restored Computers & Parts)
Return Window: If a restored computer or part develops a fault that is not due to customer misuse or modification, you have 30 calendar days from the date of delivery to report the fault and initiate a return.
Eligibility:
The fault must be an inherent defect or a failure of the restoration work, not caused by accident, misuse, unauthorized modification, or attempted repair by the customer.
We may require diagnostic information or evidence of the fault (e.g., photos, video).
For restored computers: We may need to verify that no unauthorized internal modifications or attempted repairs have occurred.
Return Shipping:
If the item is confirmed to be faulty due to our restoration or an inherent defect, we will provide a pre-paid return shipping label or reimburse you for reasonable shipping costs.
Resolution Options for Faulty Items:
Upon receipt and verification of the fault, we will offer one of the following:
Repair: We will attempt to repair the item at no cost to you.
Replacement: If repair is not possible, we will offer a suitable replacement (of equal value and similar specification), if available.
Full Refund: If neither repair nor replacement is possible, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method.
3. How to Initiate a Return
To initiate a return for either a general return or a faulty item, please follow these steps:
Contact our customer service team within your eligible return window by emailing us at retrocomputerdungeon@gmail.com.
Provide your order number, the name of the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return (e.g., "change of mind," "faulty unit," "wrong item").
For faulty items, please describe the fault in detail and include any supporting documentation (photos, videos) if possible.
Our team will review your request and provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions on how to send your item back. Please do not send items back without an RMA number.
Package the item securely, ideally in its original packaging. Include all accessories, manuals, and a copy of your original receipt or proof of purchase. Clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the package.
Ship the item back to the address provided with the RMA instructions. We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method.
4. Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we've received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
Processing Time: If approved, your refund will be processed within 5-7 business days of the return being received and inspected.
Refund Method: A credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment. Please note that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to post the refund to your account.
Partial Refunds: In certain situations, partial refunds may be granted (e.g., if items are not in their original condition, are damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or are returned more than 14 days after delivery for a general return).
5. Exchanges
If you wish to exchange an item (e.g., for a different part if you ordered incorrectly, or a replacement for a faulty item), please follow the return initiation process outlined above.
For general returns, we recommend initiating a return for a refund and placing a new order for the desired item.
For confirmed faulty items, we will discuss repair or replacement options directly with you as per section 2.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Items Received
If you receive an item that is damaged during shipping or is not the item you ordered, please contact us immediately within 48 hours of delivery at retrocomputerdungeon@gmail.com.
Provide your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the damaged or incorrect item and its packaging.
We will work quickly to resolve the issue, which may involve providing a pre-paid return label, sending a replacement, or issuing a full refund, depending on the circumstances.
7. Proof of Purchase
All returns require proof of purchase, such as your order confirmation email or packing slip.
